Managers overseeing commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers holding a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) must complete 60 minutes of training each on recognizing symptoms of controlled substance use and alcohol abuse. This training equips them with the necessary skills to identify potential indicators warranting reasonable suspicion testing.
Drug & Alcohol Supervisor Training

All employers and owner-operators falling under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug & alcohol testing program, who either employ a CDL driver or themselves operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) on public roads, are legally mandated to register with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse (DACH). This Clearinghouse serves as a secure online repository, providing real-time information to employers, the FMCSA, State Driver Licensing Agencies (SDLAs), and State law enforcement personnel regarding violations related to drug and alcohol programs of commercial driver’s license (CDL) and commercial learner’s permit (CLP) holders.
